Foodtree is searching for a whip-smart database engineer and perhaps a Rails wizard to join their small team. 

Some Details:

- The successful candidate will need a high degree of familiarity with Ruby on Rails, SQL, and LAMP development. This is a highly technical, hands-on job so the Development Lead will need to handle all aspects of planning and development for the community.
- Ideally the lead developer will have worked on a project shepherding an online community from prototype to completion. Experience working with contracted international development teams is very helpful.
- Candidates with connections to or a background in food are strongly preferred. Did you grow up on a farm? Have you ever worked as a chef?
- A passion for fixing the food system and a strong desire to make the world a better place are key ingredients to fitting in with the team.
- This role will require a great deal of high-level communication as it's a key hire for the company; the candidate will be to expected to work on presentations, conduct meetings, and participate in key decisions. 

Compensation and benefits commensurate with experience, but likely a combination of cash and equity. Must be able to work in downtown Vancouver.
